For these applications, high-response pressure transducers are often used.



High-response pressure transducers feature specialized designs that enable them to detect even very fast changes in pressure with minimal lag time. They are able to quickly sense pressure variations and immediately output corresponding electrical signals. This fast response makes them well-suited for applications involving unsteady, pulsating or turbulent flows where pressures fluctuate rapidly.



Some key aspects of high-response pressure transducers include thin diaphragms, small cavity volumes, optimized fill fluids, and low-mass electronic transmitter components. These design factors help minimize inertia effects and maximize sensitivity to detect transient pressure events almost instantaneously. Commercial high-response transducers typically have rise times of 1 ms or less, allowing them to accurately track dynamic pressures varying at frequencies of 1000 Hz or higher.
